I hate the way girls look at each other in instant judgement. The way so many girls will take one look at someone and see every flaw possible;
"Look at that pimple, ew like doesn't she take care of herself?"
Or
"She definitely gained five pounds last summer"
Or my personal favorite,
"Why would any guy ever date her? I'm way prettier!"
Seriously, girls are just bitches. Why is it so hard to look at someone and say, wow she is really beautiful, or of course she has her issues, but she deserves the world.
Well i'm going to tell you a little secret.
EVERY GIRL DESERVES SOMEONE WHO WILL GIVE HER THE WORLD!
I don't care if she's a whore,
or a liar, or a backstabbing gossiping psychotic crazy chic! There's someone out there for everyone! and they all deserve that person!
Have you ever met one of those girls who will just say anything and do anything to make sure that you aren't happy? Someone that tries to turn your friends against you, or attempts to make you live in fear because she knows things about you that nobody else does?
Well here's what you do, don't let it bother you! If they want to do that to you, then they aren't worth a moment of your time, it doesn't mean you should hate them and want them to be unhappy. But they don't have to be a part of your life, and as for the things they are doing to you? Don't sweat it, your real friends wont believe it, they will take your side and stand up for you, and in the end, the person that has tried to turn everyone against you just turns everyone agains his/herself. Everybody will see that persons true colors, and by the time it's over they wont want anything to do with them. Gossiping about people doesn't make others want to be your friend, or trust you. I know, i've been there, and life is so much easier without trying to spread rumors about other people or make them look stupid. So can we just all like chill out and live life to the fullest? :)
Thanks for listening to my vent post :P

March 10th, 2013 (502 words!!!)
The art of self destruction. Lies. Once we tell a lie, it becomes a part of us, and when we are caught, some of us will own up to it. While others will tell another one to get out of it until they are caught again. Once a single lie is told enough times we start to believe them ourselves, we convince ourselves that these new inventions of the truth are reality, that it's what truly happened. Until one day, our whole life is a lie.
Although lying is an evil and despicable act, it is also an art. It takes pure creativity to design a new lie to cover an old one. It takes wit, and originality, imagination and individuality, it is a true skill.
I tip my hat and nod my head to those who can lie day after day, I am on one side jealous of their amazing capability of thinking up anything on the spot, to be able to make up a whole new life for yourself every single day. To look someone you love and care about in the face and tell them anything but the truth. But I am also desolate for them, I can't imagine the dark world that they would have to live in to be so deceptive and scheming.
I wonder what pushes one to be such a fraud, like a counterfeit dollar that makes its way through hundreds of lives without being caught or accused. What could make someone so scared to tell the truth that they feel as though they must live a lie?
Could it be society? Because we must lead perfect and beautiful lives? Or is it the fear of being caught in our mistakes? That we are so guilty that we would tell any lie to get away from having to face the truth?
Even though nobody may know our lies, we do, and I believe that every single one eats away at you. Like a termite slowly eats away at your houses foundation. Your lies will slowly eat away at your humility, your self worth, and who you are. You will soon forget whom you used to be, because each lie will lure you deeper into a dark world, one in which there is possibly no way out. One that will torture you, and isolate you from all that is pure and beautiful. If there is a way out, it is honesty, owning up to every deceptive lie that has ever left your deceitful lips.
Lies are the demolition of ones self, no matter what, it will just dig a hole in our lives until there is nowhere left to stand, until all that is good and honest is gone. Until we have become a lie, our whole lives, a lie. Every lie you tell is a part of you. So be careful of what you say, and be attentive to your actions. Direct your capability to think up a lie so quickly to something more useful.

I don't want to play your childish games, if you don't want to be my friend for no apparent reason, then ok, I don't need to let you push me around, nobody believes the BS you're saying anyways. So this isn't hurting me at all. You are making up things in your head, coming up with reasons to hate me, so ok, that's your decision. If you don't want to be friends then ok, if you want to be friends then say something and we can work it out! But don't go around playing your little games, don't gossip about me and spread rumors, I mean it's just making you look stupid, I didn't do anything to you, and you think that i'm lost without you? Hun, I am perfectly fine without you :) I'm living life and loving it! I have tons of friends who care about me, I still care about you, but I guess I will just love you from a distance :)
But don't go around whining about how nobody loves you, because seriously, we are all standing right here, we care about you and love you, but you wont let us, instead you chose to make up lies, so many that i think you are starting to convince yourself they're true! It's getting annoying, just throw the cards in already, because in case you haven't noticed, i'm not playing along, i'm not coming back to you on my knees begging for you to be my friend again silly, i don't need that! If you're going to be a sucky drama causing friend, then i'm not interested in a friendship with you, it isn't worth my time, i'm not going to waste my time on your lies and gossip :) But you need to get your stuff figured out, because you are hurting and irritating a lot of people, and you are driving the rest insane! But I wish you the best of luck in life :) And I hope it treats you well, I don't wish anything bad upon you, I don't hate you, I just don't need you, but I hope your relationship with your boyfriend is amazing, you guys are so cute together! And i hope that your best friend and you build so many amazing memories, I hope that the dreams and memories that haunt you go away, that the man who hurt you will be severely punished, because it is not ok to treat you the way he did. I hope that you live your life to the fullest, and that you are always happy, I hope that someday you can find a way to feel comforted without hurting yourself. I love your fun and quirky style, I love your accepting and loving personality, you never judge anyone and that was one of my favorite things about you! You always know how to bring a smile to someones face and brighten their day, it's an amazing gift that you have! I hope you learn to live everyday like it's your last and I hope you are overwhelmed with pure happiness and joy. I love you no matter what Hammy.
XOXO

I don't
mind if you tell me how you feel, what is going on in your life or ask for
advice, i love that people come to me :) BUT! Please don't only talk to me when
you need someone to listen to your problems, because I want to be your friend,
and hear the good in your life too! Not just what's wrong, I don't want to be
the person that you ignore and talk to once every few months to tell me about
how your boyfriend dumped you and tell me how miserable your life is. I want to
hear about the trip you took to Venice, and about your sweet 16 and how your
family is doing, and everything that makes you happy! I want to know the full
story, not just the bad.
I saw a
man in a suit leaning over a bridge the other day, and it was instant Deja Vu!
17 AGAIN!!!! When I saw that I started going on and on about how that man is
about to fall off of that bridge and go back to being 17 and blah blah blah,
the girl I was in the car with just stared at me like I was crazy... But when
you hear about a 17 year old boy claiming that he is really 30 or 40.....
you'll know why :)
Wow i
am only at 230 words :/ this is hard!!!
Well, I
had a thought the other day, one that i actually want to act on. One that will
change my life forever. I don't want to wait till I graduate to start living,
why should I wait? I could die at any moment, and I would not be ready to, I
didn't live my life to the fullest I could! So I want to live every day like
it's my last, yes i know that is a little cliché, but it's true, I want to do
something amazing everyday, I don't want to spend anymore time sitting on the
couch watching TV or playing games. I don't want to spend any more time
worrying, being sad or angry. Why should I waste life being angry at someone?
It will pass! Shit happens and there is nothing I can do about it! So might as
well just roll with it! I want to wake up every morning ready to face the day!
Not knowing what I’m going to do, but just do it! I want to do amazing stuff! I
want to see the world! I realize that traveling isn't much of an option right
now, but one day it will be! I want to make people smile, make their day
better, not worry about how silly or stupid i look! Even if it's just dancing
across the street, buying a stranger a cup of coffee, telling a girl she looks
beautiful, or just a simple smile, anything can brighten someone’s day :) I
want to be an adventurer! See the world a whole different way than anyone else!
Live life the best I can!!! I don't want to argue with my sister, or fight with
my parents, I don't want to take my brother for granted, because he could be
gone any day, I don't want to waste one more day!!! It's time to start
living life a whole new way :)

I keep telling myself i'll find the time to put all of my writing onto this blog and catch up but I just don't. So i'm just starting over, clean slate. I can do it this time. No matter what.
My world is crashing down on me. I've never felt so low, so depressed, so hopeless. The person I loved decided I wasn't worth his time and found a new girl to play with. I tried to do the right thing and tell my friend I was happy for him with his new girl, even though I don't get along with her. But when i really think about it, past the differences we've had, I really do care about her, and if someone were to hurt her I would gladly stand by her side. But words got mixed up and feelings got hurt. I don't know what to do anymore. I'm losing the people I love the most. I get too caught up in trying to make everyone happy, and to make everyone feel loved that I get stressed, and I lash out at people sometimes, and it pushes them away. If i've done this to you, i'm sorry. I really do love you, and I really do care about you. I admit that I used to have a gossip problem, and i'm sorry if i've ever hurt you with that, but when I said I was past that I meant it, I work hard everyday not to gossip, and when I do say things to other people, it's to my dearest friends that I trust the most, but when I need advice, or just need someone to talk to, not to gossip. I want high school to be over. The drama is too much for me to handle, knowing that life will go on, and that I want to live a full life is the only reason i'm holding on right now.
Every morning I wake up and I put on my smile, when i'm hurting I typically don't show it, I don't like people to feel burdened with my problems. I just want to be there for everyone else. I put up a standard for myself that I can't reach, no matter how hard I try i'm not going to be perfect, and I will screw up, and I will hurt the ones I love, I know this, but I hate it. I hate hurting people, I don't want to, words are too easily distorted and made into something else.
I feel like a boomerang that has been put away in a dusty box for a long time. But one day a happy little girl finds me, and she takes me outside to play. She throws me, and I slice through the air, i'm free, finally. But right when everything feels ok, I turn around and land right back into her hands, she puts me back in the box and the cycle goes on. Every time I get a taste of happiness and freedom, and I just feel like everything is going to be alright, I come right back even through i'm trying my hardest to keep going, and I get put back into the dreadful place I hate most. I can't take this world anymore, it's too dark, there is too much hate, I don't want to be angry with anyone anymore, I don't want to let people hurt me, so from now on, I will just walk away from it and love them anyways. And I will keep waking up and putting on my smile, and I will try my absolute hardest to be happy even when i'm not, and I will keep working on being a good friend to everyone, I don't want to be the girl that people think I am, it is ruining me, and I am going to prove to the world that I can rise above the immature ways of high school, I am a young adult, so i'm going to act like it. No more getting caught up in drama, people can keep it to themselves because i'm done. I will be there when people need me, but I wont participate in their drama, I will love everyone the way they are, whether they are crazy red heads that shove their ponies in your face or super smart kids who call me dumb and make weird noises at me, I will make this year count.

(Continued story)
"Don't ever ask where my money comes from. Just accept it and be happy with it." Jared abruptly responded, that was not the response Martha was expecting at all. But how was she to just let this go?
************************************************************************************************************
"I'm headed out Martha, don't wait up," Jared yelled from the front door as he left.
"OK sweetheart!" She responded as she flung her coat over her should and slipped her shoes on. She waited till he had pulled out of the driveway, then she ran to her car and drove off, cautiously following him from a distance.
He pulled into a crowded parking lot.
"What's he doing at a bar?" Martha whispered to herself. She turned off the car and watched him enter the grim looking building with a black briefcase. Martha glanced down at herself realizing that she was in her pajamas, she couldn't go into a bar! She would draw too much attention, she would just have to go home for the night. As she pulled out of the parking lot she peeked at her rearview mirror, just to catch a glimpse of Jared running out of the building with several other men all dressed in suits! She slammed on the brakes the moment she saw other men come out with guns, she spun around and pulled up next to Jared;
"GET IN!" She screamed! He jumped into the car and the other men piled into the backseat with guns in all their hands. She sped out of the parking lot.
"What the hell are you doing here?!?" Jared yelled at her,
"I should be asking you the same thing! I was following you to find out where you disappear to all the time! So what the hell are you doing here?!" Martha responded. Silence overwhelmed the car. They dropped the men off at a restaurant and took Jared home. They walked in the door and Martha sat down ready for an explanation, but Jared just said goodnight and walked away.
Not knowing what to do Martha grabbed her keys again and headed to her best friend Larissa's house. She told her everything that had happened, and how suspicious everything was.
"What was the bar called?" Larissa asked.
"I don't know, it was the one off of 49th." Martha responded.
"OH! That's black sky! What was Jared doing there? That's where all the mobsters meet."
"Oh my god." Martha gasped and buried her head in her hands.
"What do I do?" She asked Larissa.
"There isn't really anything you can do. You need to get out, now." Larissa could see the fear in Martha's eyes.
"If you don't get out of here now, and they find out that you know stuff you shouldn't. They wont back down, they will kill you, go home, get all the money you can, pretend that you think he is just cheating on you or something, get everything while he's sleeping and leave."

That was it, Jared never saw her again, nobody knows where she is, or if she's ok. She disappeared, just like she was told to. Nobody has heard from her since that night.

Imagine a dolphin that has been taken into captivity, to be a performer, a show dolphin. It is required to learn a new trick, but every time it attempts it they pull it back and tell it that it isn't ready, until show day comes and they just throw it out there into the world expecting it to know what to do!
That is how I feel, my parents say "Adriel you need to learn to make your own decisions, Adriel you need to find a job, you aren't a little girl anymore, you need to grow up." But then when I try to make a decision for myself, they tell me no! Then I remind them of what they've told me, i'm growing up, i'm a young adult! Shouldn't I be able to make this decision myself? Then they just laugh at me! They tell me i'm not mature enough! And that I still live in their house and when i'm out I can make my own decisions! How am I to be ready to move out if they wont let me make my own decisions now? It is so confusing! I'm ready to grow up, to be responsible and get a job, and everything, and they tell me to, but when I try to they pull me back and don't let me. Anyways, I have vented so now i'll write something else!
Anticipation lingered on Marthas body like an overpowering perfume, every eye in the room could see her excitement, at least the very few of her friends that had shown up. Only two of her six brides maids had come for the wedding, and one of them forgot her long red dress. Martha decided to walk down the aisle anyways, with or without her friends, who cares what they think of her fiance? She loved him, and that is all that matters, she doesn't need the approval of friends of family! At least that's what she told herself. She walked down the aisle, exchanged rings, and said her I do's just like she had planned. Now she would be happy forever! She repeated the words to herself,
"Till death do we part," over and over again, knowing that he was there for good. Finally someone would be there for her when something went wrong, be her everything, someone who thought the world of her. They both waved goodbye and got into their limo that would take them to the airport, they were going to spend their honeymoon in the Galapagos Islands. Her new husband Jared didn't mind that her family and friends didn't like him, he just wanted to be with Martha. He loved her very much, her bought her big diamonds, and fur coats, he got her whatever her heart desired. Although, Martha didn't understand how he made all of that money from his construction company, so she decided to ask.
"Darling... How do you have all of this money? It just doesn't make sense that you would make so much from your company."

1st Semester reflection!
Wow, what a semester! Creative writing is by far the best class i've ever taken! I have never felt so safe to share my writing with anybody before until I joined this class, I finally feel like I fit in somewhere. I feel like I did alright this semester, I missed A LOT of blogging, I have written everyday, which was quite a success, but some of it was too personal to share, and other stuff I would write in a journal, that I currently cannot find :( All of my writing of two months just vanished, it's gone and I don't know where it could be :( But I have come so far in my writing, I love being able to write about whatever I want, and to be able to express myself through my writing. I've learned so much about writing, and poetry this semester, but the biggest thing i've learned is how to give feedback, and how to accept it, this has helped me so much with my writing. But the biggest thing i've learned is that not everything we write is going to be amazing, as a matter of fact, probably three fourths are stories or poems that I never want to read again! But it makes me appreciate the one fourth that is amazing so much more. I feel so accomplished when I write a good story, when everything just fits together so perfectly. Things that i'm doing better at, gee, i think i'm just doing better with my writing in general, i've learned so much from my classmates feedback, and how to better my writing, and things that i struggle with, I still have so so so much more to learn, but I think I have come a long way this semester. I never really pictured myself as a writer. As a matter of fact, before this class I hated, and absolutely despised poetry, and now it is my favorite kind of writing! I'm looking forward to this next semester so much, I am so determined to keep up with my writing and blog everyday, I want to better my writing so much more, and I'm so excited to read my poetry to random people! I am also surprisingly excited for script frenzy! I think it is going to be so fun! Mr. Anderson has changed my life forever, he introduced me to a whole new world of writing and helped me realize something that I love, something that I never thought I would like. And now I find myself writing everyday, and I love it! A day without writing is just too weird for me. But seriously I promise to do so much better on my blogging this semester, even though i'm not looking forward to writing 500 words everyday, but I will get used to that just like I did before, and soon it will be just like breathing, it will be natural and something that I cannot live without!

“AHH!” Macy slipped and fell on the ice, pulling Nick down with her! He landed flat on top of her, and they laughed for a while, then all of a sudden, he put his hand on her face and kissed her. As he pulled away she looked into his eyes and he knew she wanted more.
“Lets go get a room.” Nick demanded.
They slammed the door and he shoved her onto the cheap motel room bed. They both struggled to get each others clothes off as fast as possible, their heavy breathing and squealing could most likely be heard throughout the whole motel.
RING RING! Macys phone urgently screamed, she rolled Nick off of her and grabbed her phone,
“Hello?!?” she loudly exclaimed in a panicky voice.
“Macy? damn girl i thought you were ice skating!” She said in a conniving tone.
“Ok somebody is outside our room, he has a gun and is just sitting outside, I locked Egypt into the bathroom, and locked all the doors and windows, and shut all curtains, but you need to get here now! And take the backway, i don’t want him to see you!” Alli loudly whispered into the phone.
“I’m on my way!” Macy yelled as she slammed the phone and searched for her clothes.
“Wait, what? Go where? Was I that bad?” Nick asked, he was so confused,
“I’ll explain on the way! but I need you to drive me to the Motel 6 on C street where Alli and Egypt are now!” Macy pressingly exclaimed to Nick.

Alli was severely entertained, she just sat there with her elbow on the table and her hand supporting her face watching them go back and forth at each other for the rest of breakfast, she didn’t know if they would ever get out of there!
After close to two hours they finally paid the bill, and Nick decided to take a risk.
“Listen, are you busy for the rest of the day, because I would love it if i could take you out for the day, we can go ice skating, and get lunch later, and we can do whatever you want!” He finally finished, it was obvious he was nervous to ask that, Macy turned to Alli for approval.
“I can get a motel room or something and keep Egypt occupied and safe for the day alright? You go have a good time, you need it!” Alli whispered in Macys’ ear, Alli didn’t fully believe that either of the girls lives were in danger, she just came along for an adventure.
“ I would love to,” Macy told Nick.
“AWESOME! I mean, that’s great, let me just go call my boss Mr. Hosking.”
Ring ring!
“Hello?” Mr. Hosking answered.
“Hello Mr. Hosking, this is Nick, I was calling to ask if I could have the rest of the day off?” Nick asked
“Well but of course darling!” Mr. Hosking answered, he was a very feminine man, he grew up without his mom and four sisters, he was forced to wear makeup many more times than any boy should ever experience. After being teased about it at school, and being called gay all the time, he just accepted it and started acting like what everybody assumed he was, gay.
After getting the go-ahead, Nick took Macy to the ice rink. After they squeezed into the uncomfortable shoes they got on the ice.
“So what are you doing out on Christmas?” Nick asked.
“Oh you know, just... hangin...” She sounded so unconvincing, but Nick could tell it was personal and that she didn’t want to tell him so he backed off.

CHAPTER 7
The sun crept through the blinds, placing shadows on Macys’ face.
“GOOOOOD MORNING! You know, I was thinking! You guys this could be kind of fun! You know, how many people get to have an adventure like this? Being on the run for their life? Not many people! But we can! Just the three of us! I packed my bags and got my money and some food! We can do this! We leave in an hour!” Alli had gone completely crazy, Macy didn’t want to be on the run, she just didn’t really have a choice, but if it meant she would have Alli with her, she would play along and pretend it would be fun, so she decided that she would play the role and act like Alli’s idea was a good one!
“Yeah Alli! Just the three of us! On the run! This is going to be so amazing! Scary, but awesome! I’ve got money too, we will beat this guy! He can’t have my daughters’ locket! Who does he think he is to threaten me?” Macy realized that Alli’s uppity attitude helped a lot, it made her feel better about going through with this instead of surrendering.
“I mean, how many librarians get to have an adventure like this? One day I’ll get to tell this story to all my friends, and my grandchildren, and God willing, my husband!” Now Macy was out of her mind, and she knew it, but she liked it! She loved this new feeling of living on the wild side, it was so much better than reading books in the library all day!
So the girls grabbed their bags and hopped into Alli’s little red car.
“Where to ladies?” Alli asked Macy and Egypt.
“I was personally thinking that some breakfast would be amazing right now! maybe we should stop at the next diner?” Macy suggested.
“Yeah girl! There’s one a few miles from here! I hear it’s really great!” They soon pulled up to a run down little restaurant, where a lit up sign in red letters read Joe’s Diner.
“Hm, sounds decent enough!” Macy commented. So they all got out of the car and embarked on the journey across the rugged parking lot. Anyone could take one look at it and know that it hasn’t been re graveled in more than ten years, there were potholes everywhere, it was like someone just threw grenades everywhere and blew up the whole parking lot!

After driving through the snow about fifteen minutes they came upon Alli’s house, just as Macy realized that she had forgotten to call Alli to warn her they were coming! It would just have to be unexpected. She gently handed the taxi boy some money and a large tip.
“Just a second little miss!” He yelled out the passenger window to Egypt,
“Have a candy cane sweetheart! And merry Christmas, have a wonderful night!” He put the striped candy into the palm of Egypts hand and she thanked him then ran to the door where Alli was standing, looking a little confused.
“Thank you ma’am for being the one nice customer i’ve had tonight, you brought me some Christmas cheer.” He mentioned as he handed her a candy cane too.
“You didn’t think I only give them out to kids did you?” He asked in a sarcastic voice as he winked and handed her the candy, wrapped around it was a piece of paper with his phone number. She glanced up and thanked him attempting to hide the fact that she was blushing. She softly closed the door and gave a wave and a smile as he drove off. Then she turned around to see Alli standing in the doorway, she could tell right away that she was concerned.
“You snuck out of the fire escape and told her you were taking an adventure? Then made the poor thing walk in the cold for blocks? And now I watch you flirt with a taxi driver? What is going on Macy?” Alli was so confused and worried, but mostly anxious to get an answer. Macy was scared to answer,
“I don’t know, someone called my house and threatened me, then when I ignored it, a bullet came crashing through my window barely missing Egypts head... Then the phone rang again and it was the same frightening voice, telling me that if I didn’t give him what he wanted, he would kill her!” She instantly fell to the ground weeping,
“I’m so scared Alli! What do I do?!?” She asked as she wiped the tears from her eyes.
“Why didn’t you call me? And what the hell does he want? Is it money? Why is he after a little girl? I need more details Macy!”
Alli was becoming very upset, she was very protective of Macy and never let anyone bully her!
“He.. *sniff* He said he wanted her locket, the one she had just opened moments before the call.” Macy explained as she found her way back to her feet.
“Well give him the damn locket! Buy her a new one and you can get out of this situation!” Alli yelled in an upset voice.
“I can’t! It’s the only thing left from her parents! I can’t even get it open and I don’t know what’s in it! You should have seen her face light up when she opened it, it’s the only piece she has left of them! How could I take that from her!” Macy was crying again, this was too much drama for her.

“Oh you know what, never mind, we are just going to have a nice walk tonight,” Macy said in a very unconvincing tone trying to come up with an excuse not to drive in his cab. She was not about to put her daughters life in danger like that.
“Here sweetheart you go ahead and get out first,” Macy said as Egypt climbed out over her lap, she reached across to grab Egypts suitcase and ducked out of the cab, just as the sick old man reached through the little opening between the seats and pinched Macys but.
“SMACK!” She turned around and thrust her hand across his face!
“Keep your damn hands off me you sick bastard!”She screamed.
“That’ll teach him to touch me!” Macy mumbled to herself. The man just sat there on his drunk ass for a moment staring at her, completely speechless that she actually slapped him!
“Now get the hell out of here!” She screamed at him as she slammed the back door. He slammed on the gas and sped off before he gave her the chance to get her hands around his throat. So the girls just kept walking until another taxi came along.
“Lets try this again,” Macy thought to herself as a new taxi pulled up.
“Hello ladies, where to on this beautiful Christmas Eve?” An attractive young man with brunette hair and freckles on his nose politely asked. He stepped out of the cab and ran around to the side the girls stood and opened the door for them. Macy was astonished! It isn’t often that you come across a man like this, or even remotely close! The men in the little town were mostly just rude stuck up men in suits, or drunks like the old taxi driver.
“Why thank you very much, we are going to 369 SE 28th St. please!” Macy asked in a sophisticated manner. The young man was so sweet and handsome that she forgot the fact that she was on the run from a killer! Then it clicked with her and she snapped back to reality in an instant.
“Now quickly! I sincerely apologize but we are in a HUGE hurry!” She exclaimed as she helped Egypt into the yellow car.
“Yes ma’am I am so sorry, didn’t mean to keep you waiting, I just don’t find myself in the presence of a beautiful woman like you often. What are you doing out in the cold on this Christmas Eve anyways? No wait! i’m so sorry! I didn’t mean to intrude, that is none of my business!” He quickly backed off and started the car.
“Off to 28th street we go!” He loudly proclaimed in an adventurous voice, drawing a little giggle out of Egypt.

CHAPTER 6
“No sweetheart, don’t go out the front door!” She said nervously as she closed all the curtains.
“We are going to take an adventure and go out the back way!”
“The fire escape?” Egypt asked sounding very confused.
“Yeah! It will be fun!” Macy tried to convince her.
“Well ok? But you have a strange idea of fun mommy.”
They climbed down the fire escape, knowing that somebody was stationed somewhere outside her home waiting for her scared Macy so much. They made it to the end of the ladder and hopped into the snow.
“Come on lets go lets go!”
“Why are we walking? Alli lives far!” Egypt complained.
“Remember we are taking an adventure, we will run for awhile and then we will catch a cab! Here let me carry your bag!” She grabbed Egypts bag and her hand and just kept running. She couldn’t tell if Egypt was really confused or if she could tell something was wrong.
“Taxi! Taxi!” Macy hollard after they had ran twelve blocks. The taxi pulled over and the girls hopped into the back seat, an old man looked back, his cold blue eyes stared at them while they got comfortable. His arm was rested on the top of the front seat, and his big baggy black winter coat almost hid his oversized beer belly.
“The names Scott, where’ll it be tonight hot stuff?” He asked in a perverted tone while he looked Macy up and down, trying to find away to see past her scarf and down her shirt. He left the divider window open instead of giving any privacy of a thin plastic window.
“We’ll be going to...” Macy stopped talking, she glanced at the six empty beer bottles in the front passenger seat, quickly realizing he was hammered.

Three weeks passed, it was Christmas Eve, the stockings were hung above the fireplace, the cookies and milk were out for Santa, and the presents were nestled under the tree. Macy and Egypt sat next to the window with their hot cocoa and candy canes watching the snowfall from the dark night sky. The streets were decked in colorful lights and evergreen firs found a home in every families window, and every store. White Christmas played in the background as the girls just sat in silence with glowing smiles on their faces.
“Are you ready to open your Christmas Eve present sweetheart?” Macy asked her. “Yes!” This would be the first present Macy would give her daughter, and she would never forget it. She handed her a little box clothed in red sparkly wrapping paper, with a little white glitter bow garnishing the top. Egypt just stared at it for a moment, in complete excitement, then she carefully unwrapped it, Macy stuck the bow to Egypts little freckled forehead and they giggled. As she unwrapped the paper, a jewelry box was revealed, Egypt took a deep breath, and she opened it.
“It’s a locket, it was the only thing left from your parents, Lia gave it to me, she had saved it for you, it was found in your old home after it had been wrecked. It is locked and I can’t get it open, so i’m not sure if there is a picture inside, but I thought it was important that you have it. She put it around Egypts neck and gave her a big hug.
“RING RING!” The phone screamed across the house.
“Hello?” Macy said with a hesitance in her voice, it was nine o’clock on Christmas Eve, who could possible be calling?
“Give me the locket or I take the girl with it,” a creepy voice said on the other line.
“Who is this?!?” Macy was scared.
“Don’t ask questions, just put it in a bag in your mailbox and i’ll come get it.”
“No! that is my daughters and you can’t have it or her!”
“I warned you!” The stranger yelled and ended the call.
“Stupid people these days, he isn’t really going to do anything” She mumbled to herself.
“CRASH! AHHHH!!!” Egypt screamed as a bullet wizzed past her head through the window and into the kitchen! Macy ran over and pulled Egypt to the floor to take cover!

“Good
morning Macy! Ready to sign these papers and take your daughter home for the
first time?!?” She asked in complete and utter excitement!
“More
than anything! I am so excited Lia! I am shaking!” She reached out and embraced
Lia in an enthusiastic hug. They sat down and signed papers as fast as
possible, they were both so thankful for this all coming together, it was
perfect timing, now Egypt would get to have Christmas with her own family!
“We are
done signing papers Macy... congratulations, i’ll go get her darling,” Lia said
in a very comforting voice, relief blanketed Macy and Lia, they were both so
happy, and so ready for this to finally happen.
Out
of the bedroom came Egypt, with tears welling up in her eyes, she dropped her
little suitcase with her doll and few personal items in it, and she ran and
jumped into Macy’s arms. She embraced her so tightly, and just squeezed her,
holding back tears was now impossible, unrealistic, she just couldn’t do it.
Tears were flowing out of everybody’s eyes, Macy finally had a little girl, everything
was ok, life was perfect.
“Thank
you so much Lia, for helping me with this, and being so supportive and helpful,
you are so amazing, and I will take good care of her, and I will love her so
much, I promise.” Macy humbly expressed her gratitude to Lia one more time.
“Are
you ready to go sweetheart?” She asked Egypt.
“I’ve
been ready for years mommy!” Macy wanted to cry again, she was a mommy, it felt
so amazing to be called that, and to have someone that she could love
unconditionally.
They
left the shelter and gave one last wave out the window to Lia as they drove
away, it was the most amazing feeling Macy had ever experienced, to have a
daughter of her own.

“I
don’t need to look any further, don’t bring me anymore girls, I want Egypt, I
love her, she is the one!” Butterflies fluttered in her stomach and she felt
like dancing for joy, Macy was overwhelmed, only $1,300 and Egypt was all hers!
She had finally found her girl.
CHAPTER
5
Within
two weeks Macy had raised the money through lots of kind donations. She was
ready to officially sign adoption papers and bring Egypt home!
The
morning was finally here! Macy jumped out of bed! Dressed herself in pants and
a red t-shirt, poured her coffee and she bolted out the door! Once she was in
her car she knew that any red light keeping her from getting there faster had
better watch out! And any driver holding up traffic would get the finger! She
was so excited, her heart was pounding!
With
all the money she had raised she had been able to move up a size in the
apartment complex, instead of a one bedroom one bath, she had a two bedroom,
two and a half bath! She had it all set up and ready! She had a room ready for
Egypt, completed with a leopard bedspread, red curtains, and a little fake
crystal chandelier. She had even bought her a whole new wardrobe!
Here
she was, pulling into the Life Change campus, she parked her car in one of the
furthest parking spots.
“Just
breathe Macy, just breathe,” she told herself overwhelmed with complete
excitement, she took a deep breath in, and let it out. Now she was calm and
collected, she opened her car door, took one more deep breath and approached
the entrance.
She
entered and there, ready to welcome her was Lia,
November 7th, 2012 (251 words!!!)
“This
is Egypt, she is eleven years old, she lost her parents in Katrina, they were
all huddled on the roof of her house where her parents had tied her to the
chimney to keep her safe from the high winds. When all of a sudden an 80mph
gust of wind grabbed both of her parents, pulling them into the rushing water,
where they drown. She has been living on the streets until we found her about a
week ago. So I will leave you with her for fifteen minutes.” Once Lia finished
talking she exited the room, leaving the little girl and Macy alone.
Egypt
didn’t take her seat, she just stood there for a few seconds gazing deep into
Macys’ eyes, when suddenly, she just ran up and hugged Macy. She squeezed Macy
so tight, she just wanted to feel loved so bad after losing her parents a few
years prior. So Macy just held her there, holding tears back to hard, she
couldn’t even imagine watching your parents be swept away like that. Watching
them scream and die, and not being able to do anything, because Egypt was only
four at the time.
Macy
knew that she wanted an eight year old, but she had quickly fallen in love with
Egypt, she was very beautiful, and so broken, and very lovey, which is exactly
what Macy needed. After they had talked for a few minutes, Macy just got up and
left the room, off to find Lia.

CHAPTER
4
A
little over a month passed, it was December 1st, and Christmas was fast
approaching. Macy only need $1,300 left till she could officially adopt a
little girl. She had been to the shelter many times, but just couldn’t find the
right girl, but she was going again today, in hopes that the right girl would
be there.
She
pulled into the Life Change shelter at 10:30am, and she just sat there for a
moment, staring into the distance, just hoping that she would find the girl,
what if she never did? And all of this was just for nothing, all of the
wonderful people that have donated would have given their money for nothing!
“STOP
IT MACY STOP IT! just keep your thoughts positive! YOU WILL FIND THE RIGHT
GIRL!” Macy scolded herself. She thrust the car door open and walked into the
shelter in determination, with her head held high!
“Well
hello again Macy! You are looking rather darling today!” Lia said as usual.
“Are
you here to look at our new girls? We have acquired four new little girls, ages
4, 7, 8, and 11, I know you prefer 8, so i hope you like them! Come on back!”
Lia told Macy.
“Alright
Lia, thank you, I have a very good feeling about today, in all honestly I
believe that today is the day! So lets go find me a little girl!”
They
entered through a colorful hallway, the walls were layered in coloring pages
that the little girls of the shelter had colored over the past 10 years the
organization had been open.
“We
have never thrown away one drawing ever,” Lia happily informed Macy. They soon
entered the girls bedroom, wall to wall were bunkbeds. Just one big room filled
with fifty little girls, all broken, all homeless, and all without a family.
Why was it so hard for Macy to pick one? They were all so great! All so young
and talented, and so cheerful, all they wanted was to be loved.
“I
will bring out the four girls you haven’t met into the conference room to you.”
Lia motioned to the door into the conference room and Macy entered. It was a
little room, with a table in the middle, and two chairs on one side and one on
the other.

“Hey
Macy, so I was going to wait to do this till the Christmas party but after I
saw your facebook status last night I decided right now would be the best time
to do it. So, congratulations Macy! You have been promoted to assistant
manager! Your salary will double and your Christmas bonus check is much bigger!
And I want to give it to your early if you don’t mind!” Macy was stunned, she
was not expecting this at all, and she didn’t know how to even start thanking
Darcy.
“Um…
YES! I’d love the promotion and I’d love my bonus check now! Thank you so so so
much Darcy! You’re the best! This is so amazing! I don’t even know what to
say!”
“You
don’t need to say anything Macy! Here! Just take this check! It’s your bonus!
And take this check too! The whole staff pitched in some money to help give you
a little push start!” The bonus check was signed for $500, and the check from
all of her friends was for $1,200!
“But
that’s not all Macy! We put up a donation box for you at the front desk!” Macy
looked over at the desk; there was a bright pink sign that had black writing on
it that said;
“Donations
accepted to help Macy Lively raise money to adopt a little girl whom lost her
family in Hurricane Katrina!” Macy was speechless, she was so thankful; she
just stood there in aw! Darcy gave her a key to the donation box and told her
that she can empty it at the end of every day.
“You
better start finding yourself a little girl! I think you will have the money
you need very fast!” Darcy told her as she gave her a big hug.

The
night finally came to an end, and Macy said her goodbyes and handed her ticket
to the valet, she got in her car and headed straight to a McDonalds, all she
wanted at the moment was Big Mac and Coke, and that’s exactly what she got. As
she sat in a corner booth stuffing her face with fries she pondered on the
night she had. And she found herself broken hearted. Right then and there she
decided that she is going to put money aside from every paycheck, and she is
going to save up for a house, then she would save money to adopt a little girl.
Although she knew it would take a very long time to get that kind of money, it
was what she had to do.
When
she got home she posted a status on her facebook right away, it read;
“I went
to a banquet dinner tonight for an adoption organization called Life Change, it
broke my heart, I decided that I am going to save money, I will first save for
a house, then a girl. So I guess what I’m asking is if anybody knows of any
place that I could put in some extra hours to make some extra cash? Thanks
guys, just message me or give me a call if you hear of anything!”
That
was it, she changed into some pajamas, and she flopped onto her bed, she texted
Alli goodnight and turned off the light ready to start another day.
When
she clocked into work the next morning her boss Darcy pulled her aside.
