Waters of Lies

I came to your shore and you called me in.

I dipped my toes and you pulled my hand.

I jumped in and your tides receded.

I swam further out and your waves became choppy.

I dove under to get closer, and you sent a storm.

You called me into your calm sea only to spit me back on the rocks. 

Never again will I let someone pull me in.

Never again will I let the warm water fool me.

Never again will I trust the waters of lies.
